So You Want to Know What’s Going On? Read This!

Mark Gorman, of the Northeast-Midwest Institute in Washington DC publishes a “must read” blog for people working on Mississippi River policy issues.  The latest edition of the Mississippi River Basin Water Resource News for the Week is here.  Categories include:

  • Congressional update (My personal comment:  not recommended reading for the easily discouraged!)
  • notable Twitter feeds in the categories of agriculture, water quality, water resource management (i.e. floodplains, dams, etc.), bioviversity, wildlife and invasives, federal budget, Gulf coast, extractive industries, events, e-journals, and news from the states.
This blog may not contain absolutely everything you want to know–nothing could do that, right–but supplement it with local news coverage and you’re on your way to becoming decently knowledgeable about the “state of the river.”
